Overview:
Our client is a globally recognised leader in water and environmental services delivering complex infrastructure and utility projects across Europe, the Middle East, and internationally.
As part of its continued involvement in major infrastructure developments across the Middle East, our client has been delivering key water and utilities infrastructure on the landmark AMAALA project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With the project now approaching its final stages of delivery, the company is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Contract Manager to support the project close-out phase, focusing on contractual administration, claims management, and resolution of outstanding commercial matters.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring the company’s contractual position is properly protected while supporting the orderly close-out of one of the region’s most high-profile infrastructure programmes.
Job Description:
The Senior Contract Manager will be responsible for leading the contractual management and close-out strategy for the firms scope of works on the AMAALA project.
Working closely with project leadership, commercial teams, and legal advisors, the successful candidate will oversee the resolution of outstanding contractual matters including variations, extensions of time, final accounts, and claims preparation. The role will involve managing complex contractual processes associated with the final stages of project delivery, ensuring all contractual obligations are properly administered and the company’s entitlement position is robustly supported.
This position requires an experienced contract management professional capable of navigating complex contractual environments while coordinating closely with senior stakeholders across the project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the contract administration and close-out strategy for the project
- Manage outstanding variations, change orders, and final account negotiations
- Oversee preparation and submission of Extension of Time (EOT) claims
- Support the preparation and development of contractor claims and entitlement submissions
- Coordinate contractual correspondence and formal notices
- Work closely with commercial and legal teams on dispute management and resolution strategies
- Provide contractual guidance to project leadership throughout the close-out phase
- Monitor contractual risk exposure and ensure protection of the company’s commercial position
- Manage subcontractor contractual matters and close-out of subcontract agreements
- Support negotiations with the client and other project stakeholders
- Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations and project close-out requirements
Profile Required:
- 15+ years’ experience in construction contract management, commercial management, or claims management
- Strong experience managing contractual matters during project completion and close-out phases
- Proven experience managing variations, EOTs, claims preparation, and dispute support
- Strong understanding of FIDIC or international EPC construction contracts
- Experience working on major infrastructure, utilities, water, or industrial projects
- Previous experience in the Middle East region highly desirable
- Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or construction law background preferred
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Fluent English language skills essential
- Willingness to work site-based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
