Overview:
Our client is a globally recognised European infrastructure and environmental services contractor delivering complex industrial, infrastructure, and utility projects across Europe, the Middle East, and internationally.
Following the award of a multi-billion dollar contract, the company is seeking to appoint a Senior Contract Manager to support the delivery of a major long-term project based in Amman, Jordan. This role will sit at the centre of the project’s commercial and contractual management, ensuring robust administration of the contract and protection of the company’s contractual position throughout project delivery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing contractual risk, supporting entitlement, and providing strategic contractual guidance to the project leadership team across all phases of the project lifecycle.
Job Description:
The Senior Contract Manager will be responsible for overseeing the contractual administration and risk management of a major infrastructure project based in Amman.
Working closely with project leadership, engineering teams, and commercial management, the role will involve managing contractual processes across the project including subcontract management, variations, extensions of time, claims development, and dispute support.
The position requires a highly organised and technically credible contract management professional capable of managing complex contractual matters while supporting the successful delivery of a major international project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the contract administration function across the project
- Oversee subcontract management, including drafting, administration, and performance monitoring
- Manage variation orders, change management processes, and contractual correspondence
- Support preparation and management of Extension of Time (EOT) submissions
- Assist in the development and preparation of claims and dispute-related documentation
- Draft and manage formal contractual notices and correspondence
- Provide contractual guidance to project leadership and engineering teams
- Monitor and manage contractual risk exposure throughout project delivery
- Ensure contract compliance and alignment with project obligations
- Support dispute avoidance and resolution strategies where required
Profile Required:
- 10–15+ years’ experience in construction contract management, commercial management, or claims management
- Strong experience administering major construction or infrastructure contracts
- Proven experience managing variations, EOTs, claims preparation, and contractual correspondence
- Background in engineering preferred, although candidates with Quantity Surveying or construction law backgrounds will also be considered
- Strong understanding of international construction contracts (FIDIC experience highly desirable)
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure, industrial, or utilities projects
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Fluent English language skills essential
- Willingness to work site-based in Amman, Jordan
