Background

 

Anzurra is currently working with a key client to carry out a search for their international operations. Having invested heavily into the Saudi Arabian market they are now looking to appoint a Contract Manager to work on a major package of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

 

 

Responsible for all contract management activities on a new package of the multistorey mega underground car park for 10,500 vehicles - The Diriyah Square. The role is to cover the above ground assets package of the DGDA project. This will include hotels, shops, buildings, roughly 80 assets/units in total which will include concrete works. It does not currently include the MEP and fit-out package, which is yet to be awarded, but they are 'hopeful' of picking this up as it will be more valuable that the underground car park package due to luxury brand hotels, etc.

 

DGDA is an ambitious urban development project in Ad Diriyah, a historic district in Riyadh and a UNESCO world heritage site. It is valued at circa €1bn EUR. Our client is a leading global construction group currently sitting in the top 20 worldwide for civil and infrastructure works. With a turnover of €14 billion EUR per annum and over 75,000 employees they are now recognised as one of the largest groups in the market.

 

 

Role - Contract Manager

 

 

Within their Overseas Contract & Legal Department they are looking to make a key appointment who will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and who will be responsible for facing and dealing with contractual matters on one of the company’s main flagship projects.

 

 

You will be experienced in managing and strategizing contract management systems/procedures - some of which pre-exist and others which will require continuation and refining as the project progresses. You will also be required to be involved in and lead discussions on contract strategy involving site, head office, and the employer. It is an important leadership role for the company, supporting the contract manager for the wider DGDA development projects, on a challenging contractual project. Your skill set will include but not be limited to contractual letters to the engineer, drafting narratives, engineers revisions, changes, working with the technical and QS teams, and prolongation costs and time. Furthermore, you will have general responsibility for contract administration, subcontract management, contract management, variation orders, payment applications, and claims and disputes. Redacted claims letter/narrative examples maybe requested by the client.

 

 

You

 

 

As an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Engineer/Contract Management professional, you will have worked on international large-scale infrastructure projects and ideally have experience working within the Saudi Arabian market. Civil infrastructure exposure is essential. You will hold a relevant construction and engineering degree and, ideally, construction law and/or arbitration.
