Overview
Our client is a leading international infrastructure contractor delivering major civil engineering and transportation projects across Europe and globally. As part of their ongoing project delivery in Sweden, they are seeking a Commercial Manager to support a major rail infrastructure project based in Stockholm.
This role will play a key part in overseeing the commercial and contractual management of the project, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and commercial risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Description
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing commercial and contractual activities across the project, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations, commercial strategy, and financial objectives.
The role will involve managing contract administration processes, supporting claims and variation management, monitoring project costs, and providing commercial guidance to project teams. The Commercial Manager will work closely with project management, contract management, procurement, and finance teams to support the successful delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commercial and contractual activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee contract administration processes, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
- Manage and administer variations, change orders, and contractual claims
- Support the preparation and submission of contractual notices and formal correspondence
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and financial performance
- Identify and manage commercial risks and support mitigation strategies
- Provide commercial advice and support to project and management teams
- Oversee subcontractor commercial management, including subcontract administration and payment processes
- Support preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and commercial performance analysis
- Assist in dispute avoidance and resolution processes where required
- Collaborate with project, procurement, contract, and finance teams to ensure commercial alignment
- Participate in project meetings and provide commercial input and support
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commercial Management, or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in commercial management within the construction or infrastructure sector
- Experience working on rail, transportation, or major civil infrastructure projects preferred
- Strong experience working for contractors on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of contract administration, claims, and commercial risk management
- Experience working with international contract forms such as FIDIC is advantageous
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Fluent in English; Swedish language skills are advantageous
- Willingness to be based in Stockholm
