Senior Contract Manager

 

Overview

Our European client is one of the world's largest and most specialized construction groups that are now making great strides into the Canadian infrastructure market. As public investment into the Canadian infrastructure plans contirnue, our client is expanding rapidly and are continuing to invest in their core contract and commercial management function.

They are seeking a senior level contract manager to work on existing and new transport infrastructure projects in Toronto. The role will involve working closely with the senior management on how they strategically take the project(s) forward and how best to create a successful contract and commercial management structure.

As a company with a reputation for having some of the sharpest contract management minds in their space, they are seeking key experts who have worked in client-facing roles and have been exposed and involved in claims and disputes. With an annual turnover of over €14 billion EUR and over 75,000 employees, they are renowned for their involvement and leading on some of the world's most iconic civil infrastructure projects.

 

Your Role

As the business continues to expand across Canada, it is imperative that our client hires best-in-class contract and commercial management talent who are able to protect the commercial interests of the business.

Ideally, you will have worked both in Canada as well as the international construction environment. If not, it is a must that you have worked on large overseas civil infrastructure projects including but not limited to rail, metro, stations, tunnel, and highways. Ideally, you will have worked on projects values in excess of $1bn CAD.

As an experienced Contract Manager fluent in English, you will be a degree qualified quantity surveyor or engineer. The role would not suit someone from purely a legal or economic background. You will have knowledge of employer and client management, commercial management, contract negotiation and drafting, claims and variation orders, disputes and/or dispute boards, and ideally arbitration. Scheduling and forensic delay analysis experience is highly desirable. Furthermore, you will have a stable work history and will be seeking a permanent appointment with the business in Canada.
