Overview:
Our client is a leading international contractor delivering some of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes currently underway in Saudi Arabia.
As part of the continued growth of its commercial and contracts function, the business is seeking to appoint a Senior Claims Manager to support the delivery of major transportation, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects across the Kingdom. This is a senior appointment for an experienced claims professional capable of leading the preparation, management, and defence of high-value claims whilst working closely with project leadership teams to protect contractual entitlement and maximise commercial recovery.
The successful candidate will join a well-established organisation with a significant project portfolio and a long-term presence within the Saudi Arabian market.
Job Description:
The Senior Claims Manager will be responsible for leading claims strategy and claims preparation across major infrastructure projects, ensuring that contractual rights are properly preserved and advanced throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with project directors, commercial teams, planners, and external advisors, the role will focus on the preparation and management of complex Extension of Time, disruption, acceleration, and cost claims.
The position will also play a key role in supporting negotiations, dispute avoidance initiatives, and the successful resolution of contractual matters arising throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and submission of complex Extension of Time claims
- Develop and manage acceleration, disruption, prolongation, and associated cost claims
- Establish claims strategies aligned with project and business objectives
- Review contractual entitlement and assess potential claim opportunities and risks
- Work closely with planning, commercial, and project controls teams to develop robust claims submissions
- Support negotiations with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
- Assist with dispute avoidance and dispute resolution processes
- Manage external claims consultants and legal advisors where required
- Provide contractual and commercial guidance to project leadership teams
- Ensure the maintenance of robust project records to support entitlement and claim preparation
Profile Required:
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Law, Law, or a related discipline
- Minimum 15–20 years' experience within commercial, contracts, and claims management
- Minimum 10 years' dedicated claims experience
- Demonstrable experience preparing and managing major contractor-side claims on large infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of Extension of Time, disruption, acceleration, and prolongation claims
- Excellent understanding of FIDIC and international construction contracts
- Experience working for major contractors on transportation, infrastructure, aviation, rail, highways, or civil engineering projects
- GCC or Saudi Arabian project experience is highly desirable
- MRICS, FRICS, MCIArb, FCIArb, MSc Construction Law, or equivalent qualifications would be advantageous
